Build me

Lots of different coloured lego bricks in a pile.

From the Bible:

Have your roots in him.

Build yourselves up in him.

Grow strong in what you believe, just as you were taught.

Be more thankful than ever before.

From Colossians chapter 2 verse 7.

Lots of people love lego!

Building models, pictures and patterns from them is a lot of fun.

God wants to build good stuff in us, but we have a part to play in that - with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Have a look at the Fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5: 22-23:

"But the fruit the Holy Spirit produces is love, joy and peace. It is being patient, kind and good. It is being faithful and gentle and having control of oneself. There is no law against things of that kind."

Pray

You can have as many lego pieces as you want for this prayer, but for speed and simplicity - you can do this with just two.

Hold the bricks separately and pray as you press them together. Pray that God would build the Fruit of the Spirit in you.

You might want to ask God which part needs some extra work!

Lego bricks being built

The Prayer:

"Dear God, Thankyou that you love me so much and want to build my faith and show me how to work that faith out in my life.

Teach me how to build the Fruit of the Spirit into the way I act, think and speak.

Show me if there is one part of this fruit that needs some extra work.

Help me to welcome the work of the Holy Spirit as I do this
Amen"

Feel free to use this with your church - but please attribute to Pondering Platypus resources.
